Guests such as Antoni Segura, Spanish Consul General in Shanghai, Taiwanese TV host Wu Pei Ci, and top Chinese fashion model Shi Zhou Liang were present alongside key members of the Spanish media who were given a sneak preview of the new store.

Mango's Expansion Director and Associate Partner, who hosted the event, declared: "We are very proud to be able to open this flagship store here in Shanghai. China is a very important market for Mango."

The new flagship store is over 700 m2 and is located in the shopping mall Plaza 353 that was originally constructed in the 1930’s to house important public offices. The mall is located on the city’s main avenue, Nanjing Road. Recently restored in order to conserve its unique Art Deco architecture, the building is an emblematic location of great cultural significance in Shanghai.

Currently, Mango has a total of 1,229 stores in 90 countries and the Spanish firm is continuing its major expansion in China with new stores opening throughout 2009.
