MFW: Jil Sander menswear SS13

Monday, 25 June 2012
Jil Sander showed her first menswear collection at her namesake label after returning to the House after Raf Simons' departure in March.

Jil Sander menswear was first launch 15 years ago and Sander brought the label back to its roots of clean lines, impeccable cuts and luxury. The show notes mentioned "unlearning easy," and there was a formality to the long, lean, single and double breasted jackets, worn sleeveless over white poplin shirts and wide-legged shorts.

Outerwear featured heavily, with light nylon deconstructed field jackets in cornfield blue and yellow. Prints came in the form of knitwear and gauzy tees, with Mondriaan-esque colour blocking and patterns in hues of blue, yellow and black.
