Monday, 27 October 2014
Fresh and progressive, discover the latest Spring/Summer 2015 runway trends pinpointed by the Trendstop Catwalk team. This week we're focusing on materials, showcasing two essential texture directions from the 40 analysed by our materials trend experts in the Trendstop Materials on the Catwalks S/S15 Report. Sourced straight from the front row at fashion capitals around the world, see how both of these trends can be adapted into collections for the upcoming season.

Cut-Out Cottons

One of the most directional trends emerging in Paris collections, designers update fabrics from the cotton family with the use of laser-cutting and lace techniques, forming contemporary patterns with a nod to anglaise fabrications. Styles range from classic revamps to ultra-modern textures formed out of interlinked typography.

A Suede Touch

Modern takes on 70's inspirations are a key influence on the catwalks this season, as seen in Milan with directional applications of suede textures. Soft and smooth, the material lends a refined finish to designs like split skirts and casual two-pieces, along with as chic handbags. Fashion colours underline the contemporary feel.
