Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana is joining the London Collections: Men schedule as part of the label’s plans to celebrate the opening of its fourth boutique in London with an event on June 15.
The luxury brand will host a presentation for its summer 2014 tailoring collection for men to launch its New Bond Street boutique, which has been designed and created exclusively for London.
The new boutique is part of the groups’ retail development strategy to create a “series of special stores” where the classic Dolce & Gabbana style finds a “new expression” through the identities and traditions of the cities in which they are situated.
“London has always been one of the cities we love the most. It’s not by chance that we have decided to open this particular store here. British sense of style is part of their DNA, it’s been part of their culture for ages. Just like in Italy. When Dylan invited us to come, we couldn’t say no!” said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
Dylan Jones, chair of London Collections: Men, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Dolce & Gabbana to London Collections: Men, and we are delighted that they are opening this season with such a high-profile event. London welcomes Domenico and Stefano and hope they decide to have an event here every season.”
The Italian brand is the latest high profile international designer to decide to join London Collections: men, last month New York-based Rag & Bone confirmed they would be presenting their men’s collection, as did Jimmy Choo and Burberry.
