Fashion designers L’Wren Scott and Carolina Herrera have been honoured by the Fashion Group International, a global non-profit organization with five thousand members in the fashion industry.
At the Night of Stars gala, held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York last week, American fashion designer Carolina Herrera took home the top honour the ‘Superstar’ award for being “an international icon and a brilliant business woman”. Past recipients of the ‘Superstar’ award include Donna Karan, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld and Oscar de la Renta.
Other honourees included designer L’Wren Scott, a celebrity favourite and staple of the red carpet, who won the prestigious Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle Award, while the Maramotti family of Italian fashion house MaxMara scooped the Heritage Award, and Tiffany & Co were celebrated for their Sustainability.
Designers Haider Ackermann, Derek Lam and Gareth Pugh also received awards at the gala celebrating accomplishments of individuals in the fashion, beauty, architecture, business, entertainment and humanitarian industries.
