Oscar de la Renta taps Steven Speaks as new CFO

Fashion house Oscar de la Renta has tapped Steven Speaks as its chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice president of operations, effective June 1.

Speaks will oversee the luxury label finance and operations divisions and is set to report directly to Alex Bolen, chief executive officer. He will also taken on part of the responsibilities that fell upon the company's former CFO, Giuseppe Celio, who previously left the fashion house to join the team at Carolina Herrera earlier this year.

Prior to joining Oscar de la Renta, Speaks held dual roles at Jimy Choo USA as COO and CFO. He was also Labelux Group regional head of global business services; a postion he has held for over a year and left him in charge of logistics, finance, IT and human resources for Jimmy Choo, Bally and Belstraff.

“As we have added to our product range, our retail store count and geographical distribution, we have needed more experienced, hardworking intelligent people and to make sure that we’re all rowing in the same direction,” comment Bolen to WWD on Speaks new appointment.
