Monday, 19 May 2014
David Keens, finance director for British department store group Next, has announced his impending retirement.

After working for the group for over 28 years, Keens informed the group’s board on Monday that he plans on retiring after the announcement of Next’s financial results in March, 2015. Keens first joined Next and has been an executive director since 1991, holding his current position for 23 years.

Amanda James is said to be appointed as his successor by the board in 2015. A retail veteran like Keens, James has worked for Next for 18 years and has led the management accounting and commercial finance team since 2005. In 2012 she was promoted and named Next’s Brand Finance Director.
