Marc Jacobs to open 'Tweet Shop'

During New York Fashion Week, designer Marc Jacobs is opening the ‘Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop’, which will accept Twitter and Instagram posts as currency.

Using the #MJDaisyChain, shoppers will be able to win freebies and Marc Jacob accessories and fragrances from February 7 to 9, in exchange for a tweet or Instagram snap in a innovative new social media experiment.
 

As well as acting as a social media exchange, the pop-up boutique in New York’s SoHo, will also provide shoppers with a lounge, a photo booth, drinks and free Wi-Fi.
 

It's not yet clear how much tweets will be worth, or whether they'll be more valuable for the number of subsequent re-tweets that are generated – just that the most creative posts will win prizes throughout the day.
