London Fashion Week designers Simone Rocha, Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto and Erdem have been identified as fashion brands to invest in by The Business of Fashion.
The online fashion platform has put together a list of six brands it feels are the next fashion labels “worth investing in”, based on their commercial and creative potential, following the flurry of investment over the past few years on emerging fashion names like Christopher Kane, JW Anderson, Nicholas Kirkwood and Roksanda Ilincic.
Top of the list is Simone Rocha, who the BoF states has become one of the “highlights” of LFW, as well as her impressive international stockists including I.T in Hong Kong and 10 Corso Como in Milan, as well as Dover Street Market and Colette, all within less than five years.
Next up is Mary Katrantzou who has gained a strong following for her digital prints since her line launched in 2008. The fashion industry publication calls her an “attractive contender” for investment not only for her design talent but also for her personal drive and commitment.
Peter Pilotto is also highlighted for its “commercially-savvy” approach to fashion, as well as its impressive list of stockists, which includes Selfridges and Dover Street Market in London, Colette and Le Bon Marché in Paris, and Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman in New York. The brand’s collection for Target was also Net-a-Porter’s fastest selling collaboration ever.
Last of the LFW designers noted on the list is Erdem, who next year celebrates its 10th brand anniversary as well as the opening of his first standalone store in London, marking 2015 a major milestone for the fashion label.
Other names investors should take note of according to the BoF are Tim Coppens, a New York-based menswear designer, and women’s footwear label Aquazzura.
