Hugo Boss womenswear to pay off

Monday, 06 October 2014

Hugo Boss' appointment of Jason Wu to oversee creative direction for its womenswear is expected to finally pay off.

The German fashion company could double its womenswear sales in the next three years to 500 million pounds after Wu stepping in to lead the division, according to a City of London analyst.

The forecast by broker Jefferies would mean womenswear could account for 20 percent sales by 2017 as the division grows at more than three times the rate of the menswear arm.

Jefferies said it believed that the growth in womenswear would not hamper demand for the core men's product lines.
