Swedish fashion label Filippa K has announced the appointment of Alexander Schaper as its new menswear designer.

Schaper, who took on his new role as senior designer for menswear on August 1, joins Filippa K from Germany sportswear label Adidas. In his most recent role as category head designer for the Adidas Fashion Group, he was responsible for the concept and design of Adidas SLVR and Black lines.

He was also in charge of several collaborative collections for Adidas, including lines with Tom Dixon, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West. “I am very happy to be working at Filippa K. I have always been a fan of Scandinavian design and what Filippa K represents,” said Schaper in a statement.

“Therefore it is very exciting to be a part of evolving and expanding the company’s menswear business.” Schaper works alongside with the rest of the Filippa K team and is set to report to Nina Bogstedt, who is design director of the Swedish fashion label. “Alexander has great experience of designing menswear and will be a very important addition to the Filippa K design team,” said Bogstedt.

“We are happy to welcome someone with an international background and are looking forward to working together with him.” Schapers first collection for Filippa K will be for its Fall/Winter 2015 range.
