The Design Museum in London is marking the 150 year anniversary of the opening of the first John Lewis store on Oxford Street with a pop-up exhibition exploring the design stories behind some of the retailer’s most popular products.

Running from September 8-21, the exhibition will showcase more than 100 John Lewis products, including current best sellers and historical pieces from the Design Museum’s own collection, as it looks at the retailer’s influence on the British shopping landscape across a century and a half of trading.

The ‘John Lewis: How We Live Today’ pop-up will feature everything from clothes to kitchen utensils, washing machines to radios, and will also explore the relationships between designers, retailers and consumers.
