Bags and shoes drive Christmas sales at Kurt Geiger

REPORT_ Footwear, handbags and accessories brand Kurt Geiger reported 14 per cent growth in like-for-like sales for the 2014 festive period. The company has said that its line of party shoes led to the 26 percent rise in footwear sales and handbags as gifting option attracted sales growth of above 233 per cent. Online sales too increased 35 per cent and the brand managed to sell almost 6,000 pairs of shoes on Christmas Day, up 130 per cent from the year before.

After the robust festive season, Kurt Geiger has roped in Dutch supermodel Lara Stone as the face of the brand for the year 2015. A new campaign featuring Stone of ‘Everything but the Dress’ collection was also unveiled recently. Last year saw Kurt Geiger expanded its footprint into international markets with flagship stores in China, Thailand and Singapore. It now aims to open further eight stores in Asia in 2015.
