Asos were named Best Retailer and Best International Retailer at the annual Internet Retailing Awards held in London last week.
Asos was presented with its Best Retailer honour by House of Fraser executive director of multichannel Andy Harding who said Asos was a “truly incredible” retailer. Referring to the fire that hit Asos’ Barnsley warehouse he added: “Anyone who can come back from losing 20 percent of their stock to be selling again in two days shows true resilience.”
The e-tailer was also awarded the International Award for its work in reaching out to customers as far afield as China and Russia, beating off competition from Mothercare and Puma.
Other winners at the annual honours celebrating achievements in multichannel retailing included department store chain House of Fraser who won Best Mobile Award, while Missguided took home the Market Entry Award.
There was also success for Amazon who were awarded the Capability Award, ahead of John Lewis and Argos, and marketplace Etsy won the Service Award for successfully creating a place that gives creative makers and retailers a space to connect with customers. While Argos took home two honours the Omni Award and IRIS Award.
