Amazon enjoyed a record 'Black Friday' as it sold over four million items in just one day. This is the highest number of one day sales in its fifteen years of trading.
The company is hoping 'Cyber Monday' will beat the sales of 'Black Friday' as it is typically the busiest day of the year for online shopping.
Last year Amazon.co.uk saw more than three and a half million items ordered on site, at a rate of around 41 items per second. That meant that a delivery lorry packed with Cyber Monday orders left one of Amazon’s eight UK fulfillment centres every two minutes and ten seconds.
