Max Mara reports 1.3 bn euros turnover in FY13

REPORT_ Max Mara recorded a turnover of 1.3 billion euros (1.7 billion dollars) in 2013 compared to 1.294 billion euros (1.750 billion dollars) in 2012, reports Italian daily Il Sole24 Ore. In 2013, the company expected a 10 percent growth, in 2013 fiscal year. It had reported a 33 percent increase in sales over the past two years, boosted by medium-high end handbags, made in Tuscany.

The United States, the company’s fourth largest market after Europe, China and Japan, which grew by 40 percent in 2013, already has 72 mono-brand stores, where it plans to open new stores or renovate the existing ones. In September, the company aims to open a unit in the design district of Miami and also wants to focus on growth in Canada.

For its new Signature Bag and Sunglasses A/W 2014 and S/S 2015 ad campaign the company has brought on board, actress Amy Adams as brand envoy. The brand has now increased its communications budget by 15 percent. Max Mara is a luxury Italian fashion house belonging to the group of companies under the Max Mara Fashion Group holding.
