Juicy Couture to launch in India

Authentic Brands Group (ABG), which owns fashion and lifestyle brand Juicy Couture, has entered into an agreement with Indian distributor Reliance Brands to launch the label in India by autumn 2015. The move, part of ABG’s ongoing expansion plan, will see Reliance Brands an affiliate of Reliance Industries Group, open 20 Juicy Couture in India over the next five years, as well as launch the brand online.

Through the partnership Reliance will offer the full Juicy Couture lifestyle collection including women's and girl's apparel, handbags, footwear, intimates, swimwear, fragrance, accessories and jewellery.

ABG chairman and CEO Jamie Salter said: “This is an exciting milestone for Juicy Couture as India represents a new and emerging fashion market for the brand.

“Reliance Brands has exceptional operational and market knowledge and our partnership with them will allow us to drive a comprehensive, multi-dimensional strategy to bring Juicy Couture to new international markets.”

Juicy Couture announces expansion plans in India

“Juicy Couture enjoys a very strong recall and connects among fashion forward Indian customers and we are very thrilled to add this glamorous and fun brand to our prominent affordable luxury portfolio.”

Juicy Couture will join Reliance Brands’ luxury portfolio which includes Diesel, Kenneth Cole, and Steve Madden.

This is the latest expansion deal for the Juicy Couture brand since ABG acquired the label from Fifth & Pacific Companies last year, over the summer the global brand development and licensing company announced its plans to accelerate the brands growth in Asia with a long-term partnership with ImagineX Group, Asia’s leading retail, brand management and distribution company.
