Tod's taps Andrea Incontri as creative director

Just one day before the start of Milan's mens fashion week, Italian luxury group Tod's announced the appointment of Andrea Incontri as its new creative director for menswear, to focus on ready-to-wear.

Tod's menswear spring collection, which is will be presented this Sunday in Milan in the PAC art space, has been design by the group's in house team, under the guidance of Incontri. His appointment at Tod's is said to be part of the group's chairman and chief executive officer, Diego Della Valle, plans to expand its menswear sector.

“His arrival within our creative team will enrich men's collections, giving our customers an even wider offer of products, especially for the ready to wear,” said Diego Della Valle.

“Becoming part of a company like Tod's, is not only an honor but a real challenge,” commented Incontri. “Quality, Italian and contemporary values, like those they hold at Tod's are already part of my personal vision of modern man. My intent is to develop them, always keeping in mind the importance of the roots of the brand, with its rich history and craftsmanship.”

The Italian designer founded his eponymous label in 2009 and then went on to win the “Who Is On Next” accessories section award for the men's talent competition in 2010. Three years later he unveiled his womenswear collection during Milan Fashion Week in February.

Tod’s womenswear lines will remain under the creative leadership of former Valentino creative director, Alessandra Facchinetti, who was appointed last February.
