The Cambridge Satchel Company taps head of marketing from Mr Porter

The Cambridge Satchel Company has tapped Mario Muttenthaler, director of sales and marketing at Mr Porter as its first chief marketing officer.

He is the newest senior management member to join the company, following Index Ventures 21 million dollar (12.3 million pound) investment in the accessories label earlier this year.

Prior to joining the company, Muttenthaler was director of sales and marketing at online fashion retailer Mr Porter. He has also held a number of roles at Net-a-Porter over the years, including online market manager and head of marketing.

“I am delighted Mario has joined us. He brings a wealth of experience in digital brand development and e-commerce,” commented Julie Deane, founder of The Cambridge Satchel Company in a statement.

As chief marketing officer, Muttenthaler will oversee the company's brand strategy, press relations and helm the customer experience offer on the Cambridge Satchel Company’s website. He will also be in charge of amassing and retaining new customers through the company's on and offline networks.
