Marks and Spencer has appointed Richard Solomons, InterContinental Hotels Group boss, to its board as a non-executive director, effective April 13.
Solomons is currently the InterContinental Hotels Group’s chief executive officer, he has been with the hotel group since 1992 and has worked in a number of senior roles across the business, before being appointed to the board as chief financial officer in 2003. He became chief executive in July 2011.
As well as joining the Marks and Spencer board, Solomons will also join the retailers Nomination Committee as well, and it is hoped that he will bring strong commercial, financial, consumer, branding and global experience to the M&S Board.
