Sportswear giant Adidas has appointed Paul Gaudio to the newly created role of global creative director.

Gaudio, previously served as general manager of the brand’s digital sport department, but in recent weeks he has been overseeing both the Adidas and Reebok design teams, according to Sportswear International.

He will continue to be based in the company’s US headquarters in Portland, Oregon and will report into Eric Liedtke, who is responsible for the Adidas and Reebok brands in the Adidas Group’s management board.

The appointment means that James Carnes, head of the brand’s performance segment, and Dirk Schönberger, who oversees the style department, will now report into Gaudio.
