A few current and former studentd of the Iowa Varsity's apparel, merchandising and design program have been taken to the New York Fashion Week to work hand in hand with the best fashion professionals.

They’re attending runway shows and presentations, working backstage dressing models, and writing for fashion magazines.

“I've returned to NYC to work on Anna Sui's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week show, after being requested by Anna herself to return for the show,” says Mackenzie McArthur, a junior student who interned in Anna Sui. McCarthur helped the renowned designer with fittings, attending meetings, running errands, sewing final details on show garments, and styling assistance.

Iowa State’s apparel, merchandising, and design program is well-connected nationally and sent more than 100 students to intern with businesses all over the world this past summer.
