The Milan-based fashion brand Prada is launching its own literary contest, the Prada Journal, in cooperation with Italian publisher Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore to promote the brand’s eye wear range and find promising writers.
Contestants have to send in 4.000 to 8.000 words short stories that examine the question “What are the realities that our eyes give back to us? And how are these realities filtered through lenses?”
The stories can be written in a chosen language by the contestant without any restriction and will be judged by Prada and Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore.
The winner or winners will receive 5000 euro each and the short stories will be published as a digital book and a print version will be distributed in Prada boutiques.
Terms and conditions of the contest are available on the Prada Journal site, where contestants can also find the set of guidelines for the competition.
Applicants have to send in their short stories until June 18th 2013 and the winners will be announced on December 31st 2013.
