The program fashion journalism/ fashion communication developed a mobile smartphone magazine for the network Instagram.
Instagram was developed in 2010 and became the most successful application on the market. Facebook just bought Instagram for about 1 billion euros. Principally the network works like Facebook or Twitter where users choose a name and create a profile, which can be followed by other users. Filtered and reworked pictures can be uploaded, liked and commented.
As Instagram is exclusively usable as an application, the AMD magazine “TheInstazine” is also communicated over facebook as "TheInstazine On Instagram".
Posts can be teased and refer to on the Instagram platform to gain new readers.“TheInstanzine defines the new media as an instrument of evolved communication” Frank Gerbert, lecturer for New Media at the AMD Munich and project leader states.
The appearance of the unconventional magazine in this form is something completely new on the instagram platform. So far user posts are normally limited to leisure activities, self portraits or other trivialities. TheInstazine whereas publishes daily for free and mobile contributions in form of picture and text. The students involved organise themselves with an editorial structure.
