3D printing is new to many people. How does a 3D printer work and how does it apply to shoe design? You are welcome to our open house on Friday March 21st from 14:00-21:00 hrs to get your questions answered! SLEM , the education and innovation institute for shoes , will start in April with 25 short workshops for students and professionals . SLEM workshops focuses on four pillars : trend forecasting , shoe design, technology and business . There are various entry levels and for each one there is a suitable program made available. During the open day, you get a preview of the upcoming courses.
Besides the short workshops SLEM will start a new summer school program in July named "Design Direct" , developed by Professor Roger Ball , the Hong Kong Polytechnic University . During this six week course - you can follow separate building blocks from the course menu - you start your own online shoe brand without a big investment. SLEM offers this program exclusively for the footwear industry.
In addition SLEM offers trend information and consulting, by Nicoline van Enter, creative director of SLEM. Nicoline has given many lectures with great success for brands and schools in Europe , the U.S. and China .
On Friday, March 21 between 14:00 and 21:00 the door of SLEM will be open to all interested parties.
Teachers Roderick Pieters , one day shoe design workshop , Joep Mayers , pattern drafting , and Adinda Boon , personal branding for shoe designers , will be available to answer questions.
