Burberry chief executive officer Angela Ahrendts must be pleased with the House check, especially her 'check.' The former Liz Claiborne executive has reportedly boosted Burberry's profits by 23 percent in her first full year, which is reflective in her salary.
An executive compensation survey published in London's Guardian newspaper Thursday said that last year, Ahrendts was the highest paid female executive within the U.K.'s FTSE 350 companies, the 350 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. The report said Ahrendts earned slightly less than 4.2 million pounds in the year ended March, when profits hit $271 million.
This figure included a bonus for joining the business, along with allowances and benefits. The Guardian, together with the U.K.'s Technology Reward Forum, took its data from the latest annual reports of the companies it surveyed.
Overall, Ahrendts' salary would have placed her 38th on the Guardian's list of the highest paid directors of companies within the FTSE 100, said WWD.
