Stella McCartney - Spring/Summer 2011 The collection is divided into defined color themes of pinks, blues, whites, blacks and a story of bold botanical prints. Pink in shades of tea rose, red wood, carmine and faded pink; Blues in delphinium, cosmos, felicia and cornflower; Whites in ice, ivory, clotted cream and vanilla; and Black. A contrast of shades of the same color are mixed and simply layered.
Summer tailoring updated, inspired by Savile Row, in feminine fabrics with cropped trousers. Jersey and knits are combined with crisp white men’s shirting in all-in-ones and dresses for contrast. Crisp and structural, dresses, coats and separates are in graphic a-line silhouettes. Jackets are sharp with cut-out hemlines and peaked lapels.
Lace in varying weights; light in an organic voile, heavy organic cotton and denim are self finished with scalloped edges in clean silhouettes. Organza embroidered lace with three-dimensional flower details on dresses and separates. Evening is clean and effortless in black. A smoking shawl triple collar jacket in a graphic contrast of black and ecru paired with black skinny trousers. Three different painted portraits of flowers are contained into botanical prints on silks and cotton; anemones, tulips, and a mixed group in shapes that play with hints of volume.
