I visited Barcelona the work of Antonio Gaudi really appealed to me, everywhere in the city his influence can be seen which created a style that was instantly recognisable and individual. The main aspect of his architecture that caught my attention was the formation of shapes and patterns along with the natural palette used. These spectacular buildings stuck in my mind and influenced my thinking within my designs; it encouraged me to try and incorporate Gaudi’s style within my own personal collection. From the first time I saw the aspects of his work that I admired I knew that I would be able to integrate it into garments to create a stylish and modern collection. The scale of Gaudi’s works also pushed me towards trying to make more challenging garments then I would do normally as this is what he did within the architecture world.
