Concerning the styles of evening dresses, there are lots of choices available including the mermaid style, the structured sheath style or the empire waist or dropped waist or a simple A-line cut. For example, skirts are designed in many styles, such as A -line, tubular, dirndl, flared and pleated. Choose a style that flatters both your personality and your looks would show your elegant demeanour thoroughly.

A-line

The A-line style evening gown is somewhat bell-shaped, it is close-fitting at the top and widens gradually at the bottom, without gathers or pleats. Satin works best in formal, structured gowns with petticoats worn underneath, especially A-Line silhouettes.

Mermaid

Mermaid, as is implied by the name, the most characteristic style is shaped like the biform body of a mermaid. A legendary sea creature having the head and upper body of a woman and the tail of a fish. Resembling or suggestive of the tail of a fish in shape or movement. The dresses can be of a great variety of colors and texture.

Trumpet

If the evening gown is trumpet shaped, the lower corner is pieced along the lengthwise grain. Add seam allowance so that the pieces can be joined properly. The dress flared out towards the bottom.

Empire

The high waistline design flying across the body allows the dress traditional style to be the perfect complement of its modernity, which perfectly matches the lady's proportions.

Princess

The princess style evening gowns are all much of a muchness, they are also tight, cut in single pieces. The lady wore a princess gown that shone like dewdrops in the sunlight.

According to the equation gotten by curve fitting the outlining characters of the styles are analyzed. These three basic silhouettes are: the straight or tubular, the bell - shaped or bouffant, and the bustle. Many variations of each of these silhouettes are possible.
