Entrepreneurship - How to make contact 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Hi all, I am in the process of researching all sorts of idea in opening my own business. While looking through somethings, I just came to think, how do I in best way make contact to brands and designers if I wanted to ask if their garments were to be sold in my boutique for instance?

Any helpful ideas? Anyone experienced in this?

Cheers,
Bertille

Hi Bertille,

The best thing to do, is to literally just do it.

The only thing you have to keep in mind when approaching businesses is to be polite, not too aggressive and polite. Do not be imposiing.

I hope that helps, good luck with your endeavour.

Hi Sarah,
I woudl say go for it as well.
However, if you want to get technical, the first step is to know the products/ designers you are putting into the stores.
DO research on them..I would say the top3 questions to ask are:

1) What stores do they already sell too and will it compete with what you already have or want?
2) What is there turn around and replenishment Est dates, season, etc. If you want to start with a designer, you have to know if you can continue with them.
3)How does the designers foresee there brand and does it fit into your store and its expectations- this is not only brand identity but also pricing and percentage of revenue at the end of the day?

Hope this helps.
Best
Stephen
