Vivienne Westwood is to manage its own stores
after it severed ties with franchise partner Hervia Ltd.
Hervia is a Manchester-based retail company which operated seven Vivienne Westwood boutiques. The company has has placed itself into voluntary liquidation after receiving an out-of-court settlement from Westwood.
Vivienne Westwood ended agreements with Hervia in 2011, but a legal battle ensued.
An undisclosed pay-off has been agreed and Vivienne Westwood Ltd has taken on the leases and the running of stores in Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool and Nottingham, stated the Independent. The Independent quoted a Vivienne Westwood spokeswoman saying: "Since 1995 the two companies have enjoyed a successful business relationship and wish each other the best for the future."
