H&M group on 16 April declared its total sales of March 2012, including VAT in local currencies increased by 26 per cent compared to the same month the previous year. It also informed that its sales in comparable units increased by 16 per cent.
Comparable units comprise the stores, the internet and the catalogue sales from the countries that have been in operation for at least a financial year. Sales in March were positively affected by favorable weather and a positive calendar effect among other things. These factors are predicted to have a negative effect on its sales for the month of April.
H&M’s total number of stores amounted to 2,517 on 31 March 2012 versus 2,238 on 31 March 2011. H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (publ) was founded in Sweden in 1947. The group includes the brands COS, Monki, Weekday and Cheap Monday as well as H&M Home.
