First half year turnover Van de Velde rises 0.9 percent

The consolidated turnover of Van de Velde for the first half of 2012 has grown due to good performance of Rigby & Peller in Europe. But on a comparable basis the consolidated turnover has fallen by 2.8 percent.

In the first half of 2012 Van de Velde realised a consolidated turnover growth of 0.9 percent. Last year for the same period it was m€ 97.8 compared to m€ 98.7 for the current year.

On a comparable basis (including comparable deliveries and excluding retail turnover of Rigby & Peller UK) the consolidated turnover fell by 2.8 percent. A fall in wholesale turnover was registered by 3 percent mainly due to a decline in back orders for the second quarter of 2012. Similarly there was a fall in retail turnover of Intimacy of about 10 percent in local currency and 1.7 percent in euro. In Europe retail turnover of Rigby & Peller (the former Oreia) grew by over 8 percent thanks to the opening of new stores in Germany and Spain.

The retail turnover of Rigby & Peller in the UK contributes an amount of m£ 4.5 (m€ 5.5). This represents a growth of about 4.5 percent on a store-to-store basis.

Van de Velde based in Schellebelle designs, produces and markets luxurious women’s lingerie under its own brand names Marie Jo - ‘Haute Lingerie’, Marie Jo L’Aventure - ‘Lingerie Pure’ , PrimaDonna, Marie Jo Intense - 'Move in style', Andres Sarda and Prima Donna Twist.
