Target’s CEO, Gregg Steinhafel, was elected as chairman of the Retail Industry Leaders Association. Steinhafel was vice chairman of RILA, and succeeds Bill Rhodes, CEO of AutoZone. Richard Dreiling, CEO of Dollar General, was elected as the new vice chairman, and Gregory Wasson, CEO of Walgreen, is the second vice chairman.

The RILA represents mainly mass merchants and is active in lobbying for their interests, such as state sales tax collection for out-of-state and online merchants.
