Brown Shoe Company today announced the addition of Mark Schmitt as chief information officer. Schmitt joins the company after serving in various information technology roles at Express Scripts and Anheuser-Busch InBev. In his position at Brown Shoe Company, he will be focused on leading the strategic technology direction of the company.
“We’re looking forward to Mark’s contribution to our IT initiatives and to leveraging his extensive experience with multi-billion dollar corporations, such as UPS, Anheuser-Busch InBev and Express Scripts,” said Mark Hood, chief financial officer for Brown Shoe Company. “His work in management information systems, specifically his experience implementing and upgrading SAP and other application platforms, will be of benefit to Brown Shoe Company. In addition, his background in supply chain and logistics, as well as his strategic planning experience, will also be of great value to the company.”
Prior to joining Brown Shoe Company, Mark Schmitt worked as senior director of management information systems for Express Scripts. From 1996 to 2009, he was with Anheuser-Busch InBev, where he held various management information systems roles and served on SAP’s Consumer Product Advisor Council. From 1984 through 1996, Schmitt worked for United Parcel Service, where he functioned in a variety of technological and strategic roles. He earned a bachelor’s in electronic engineering technology from DeVry University and a master’s in business administration in information systems from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
