Fast Retailing appoints COO for Comptoir des Cotonniers

The Fast Retailing Group mentioned its gratification on appointing Chrystel Abadie-Truchet on 9 May 2012 as its COO for Comptoir des Cotonniers.

Chrystel Abadie-Truchet has devoted the majority of her career to cosmetics and perfume, but also the fashion sector. She worked for eight years at Yves Saint Laurent Parfums, including four as International Marketing Manager. She joined the Puig Group in 2000 as CEO of Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne and Payot. She was named CEO of Cacharel in 2005 and President of Children Worldwide Fashion in 2007.

Elisabeth Cunin, President of Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam, said, “Chrystel Abadie-Truchet will be able to offer Comptoir des Cotonniers expertise that will take the brand to a new stage in its global development.”

Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. is a holding company that started its first UNIQLO store in 1984 in Japan. UNIQLO now has worldwide operations, including in the U.K., China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the United States, France, Singapore, Russia, Taiwan and Malaysia. As of the end of February 2012, the company operates 849 stores in Japan and 234 stores in other markets overseas. In 2005, Fast Retailing Co. purchased the operations of France-based women's fashion developer Comptoir des Cotonniers.
