Palazzo living for Polimoda

Tuesday, 26 June 2012

The Polimoda fashion college has moved its premises from the hills above Florence into a historic gilded palazzo in town. It was the venue this week for a show of creations by 28 students, including Lavinia Coppini , who sent a colorful skirt blowing down the runway.

New, too, is the school’s roster of international students and a wide-reaching program developed by Linda Loppa, who built up the design school at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp over two decades. Ferruccio Ferragamo, president of Polimoda and chairman of his family company, tapped Ms. Loppa six years ago to push for modernity and creativity at the school.
