Wednesday, 14 May 2008
With the arrival of the summer season a pair of designer sunnies is a must. Eyewear brand Oliver Peoples and European designer Kris Van Assche joined forces to create a limited edition sunglasses. Van Assche secured his place in the fashion scene with seven seasons under his belt of his own brand, and last year he was appointed as the Artistic Director for Dior Homme. The collaboration with the Los Angeles based company is his first venture into the eyewear market. Both brands represent luxury, quality and classic designs, and this collaboration echos masculine sophistication without being pretentious.

Based in Beverly Hills, Oliver Peoples Inc. was co-founded in 1986 by eyewear visionary and designer Larry Leight. The company currently has distribution in more than 60 countries worldwide. In addition to the Oliver Peoples brand, the Company also has the Global rights to market and distribute Paul Smith eyewear, which was launched in 1994. Oliver Peoples' Creative Director, Larry Leight said: "Kris is one of the young designers that I truly admire in fashion today. After my 20 years in the eyewear business, working with some of the top designers this century, his passion for design, and the fresh perspective he brings to the table, is unique and exciting."

The limited edition pair of sunglasses have a sporty design and a strong attention to detail. The limited style will be available at selected retailers this summer and retail for $500.
