 Kate Spade will finally, after long speculations about it, launch an apparel line. Come spring 2009, Kate Spade’s own stores will serve as a test lab for the clothes. The company may start wholesaling the apparel as of fall 2009 to other retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue,
Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom. Kate Spade appointed Deborah Lloyd as creative director and co-president a year ago.
