Whilst at adidas they had a reason to pop the champagne, lifestyle company Collective Brands has to pay up $305 million over the adidas stripes dispute. The verdict was reached in the previously disclosed adidas matter pending in the federal court in Portland, Oregon. Earlier this year adidas went to court as its signature stripes were used in a similar design and wanted to protect its 3-stripes trademark.

Collective Brands believes that the verdict is excessive and unjustified. The Company will ask the court to set aside the verdict and, if it is not granted, intends to take all necessary steps to overturn it.
