WRAP's Hong Kong office and global quality/compliance firm Bureau Veritas, co-hosted an industry luncheon with the heads of key Thai manufacturing associations
on January 30th in Bangkok, to discuss labor and environmental compliance standards among US and EU brands and retailers. The impact of the global economic crisis and recent political events were also topics of discussion. Representatives of the Thai House Wares Association, the Thai Home Decorative Association, the Thai Furniture Association, the Thai Toy Association, and the Thai Textiles & Garments Association attended this meeting. WRAP Asia will be working closely with Thai manufacturing associations in 2009 to bring training and capacity building to the market while expanding the understanding and certification of WRAP's Universal Code of Ethical Conduct (UCEC). |
