Men’s fashion line Duckie Brown showed its Spring 2009 collection ‘The Main Duckie’ on opening day of Mercedes Benz New York
Fashion Week last Friday. Some call it the ‘menswear show to watch’ in New York. Designers duo Steven Cox and Daniel Silver combine black and grey suits, shorts, shirts, tees and nylon hoods with electric blue and bright yellow elements. Shapes, fabrics, cuts and colours make the collection happy, lighthearted and fairly wearable.
New York based Duckie Brown was founded in 2001 by Steven Cox and Daniel Silver. Their mission, “dressing men beautifully," is accomplished through hand tailoring, unique fabrics and bold colors. Duckie Brown regularly shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and can be found at retailers across the world. In 2007, Duckie Brown was nominated by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for its Menswear Designer of the Year award, alongside Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. For this runway show, Duckie Brown partnered with watchmaker Montblanc and each model on the catwalk wore a Montblanc timepiece. Duckie Brown fans include Jude Law, Adrien Brody, Kevin Bacon, Matt Damon, Green Day, Beck, Ricky Martin, Black Eyed Peas, Rod Stewart, Graham Norton and Ashton Kutcher.
